As you are probably gathering by now, this collection was pretty important to rounding out my permanent collection. When launching, I had to make choices and work with what colours had come to me in the dye pots. But as time went on, and I spent more time staring at the gradient yarn wall, it occurred to me that I had some major holes in the collection. I had a serious lacking when it came to blue! So this collection was inspired to solve that problem. Slowly as the colours came to me, and the gradient smoothed itself through the blues, the inspirations came. Summer, water, blue, beach, and fun. This next colour, Wasaga Surf is the perfect example of summer on Georgian Bay.
A true aqua blue this colour is both fun and young
but can be used to create sophisticated and timeless knits.
Wasaga Beach, located on the southern shore of Georgian Bay, is one of the best known beach communities in Ontario. With 14km of stellar sand beaches, the community attracts over 2 million visitors each summer to swim, surf and sunbathe on the endless stretches of sand. On many days at Wasaga Beach, its hard to tell which one is a clearer blue, the surf or the sky.
