So confession time … I have a number of colourways that I have never knit with. I know, terrible right? But with having around 40 colourways and only being in business for just over a year it would be a physical impossibility for me to have a FO in every colour. Sometimes I even forget that some of them are there and that I have such a lust for them when something new and flashy comes out of the pot. It takes an order coming arriving in one of those shades to remind me of my love for them.
Last summer was totally insane in our lives with living in Rosseau and running a B&B. During that time I released a totally awesome collection of blues called shades of the bay. And with the exception of Tobermory Shoreline and Grondine Swell, I hadn’t knitted with any of these colourways. French River Blueberry and Sweetwater Sea just shifted themselves right off of my to do list. But when the time came to knit my little man a blanket I couldn’t help but working with these vibrant and saturated blues. So far everything for this guy has been bright and vibrant, perfect for infant stimulation, but nothing blue had yet to appear. Enter this project.
I, like many others, was caught by the excitement and fun of Tin Can Knits Fly Away blanket and set away to planning what I would do. Working with my bright blues, this is what I came up with.
With the addictive nature of this blanket I have about half the blocks knit and seamed together, I cannot wait to get this one done and hanging out in the bassinet, and hopefully in time. As of Monday I hit the 30 week mark and was also given the info that we are expecting a big boy, so he might be showing up a bit earlier than expected. Time to get knitting!
