There was a lot of screaming when I announced that I was retiring Beausoleil Shoal. But it was something that I felt really strongly about. I found every dye lot that came out was different, and I would be holding my breath as I was dumping out the pot, to see what was going to happen with this specific batch.
As a dyer, wanting to run a larger scale business, this level of inconsistency and lack of predictability is just simply unmanageable and in my opinion, unacceptable. So I pulled it. But I promised after some time working with the colourway I would bring a similar shade back. Something that I was comfortable with the consistency of and something that I was happy with how it functioned within the greater collection. Well today is that day.
On the left, we have the new Beausoleil Shoal, the right, the retired colourway. I couldn't be happier with the update. The vibrance and life in the new colourway is exactly what I was hoping for. It breathes a new life into the shade that I had hoped for and offers endless opportunities for your knitting.
Here are some images that inspire me with this colourway (click each image for the source). Make sure to visit our pinterest board to see some more! And don't forget, we are closing as of next Tuesday, so if you want to order this colourway before we come back in September, be sure to order soon!
