It isn’t fall without trees in full colour and the Oak Leaf Hydrangea shares this beautiful tone of soft red-brown. Founded in 1866 and named for named for Viscount Cardwell,a British colonial secretary, Cardwell Township was home to the first Icelandic settlement in Canada. Hekkla, a small hamlet that still exists today, was named for a volcanic mountain back in Iceland. Still very sparsely populated, this region is still nearly as rustic andremote as when the Icelanders first called it home.
