The Macfie Maple bush has been operating in the Dunchurch area for many years. John Macfie, the patriarch of the family and local historian has been focusing on the organic and local focus of the syrup and production since before it was a popular idea. With John’s passing in recent years the sugar bush has been carried forward by the family’s younger generations. Each taking vacation from their day jobs to spend time working the syrup season every year in March.
