The Bruce Peninsula is home to many incredible forests, but most incredibly it is home to the oldest trees in Canada. A thin screen of white cedar trees that cover the cliffs over looking Georgian Bay, that can be traced back to to 688 CE/AD. While Islam was being founded, and the Byzantine Empire was declining, a group of trees were were planted that are still growing today. These trees can still be found, tiny and gnarled along the high cliffs that over look the Bay.
