The North Channel isn’t officially part of Georgian Bay, but it is a beautiful is where the Bay returns to Lake Huron, and is tucked behind Manitoulin Island. This channel is known around the world as one of the best places for for ‘gunkholing’, where sailors they travel slowly between the coves, bays, and sleepy harbours and spend the night around some of the best scenery around. Finding these perfect little hideaways means sailors are managing shallow waters, tight entrances and tricky navigation, but the gunkholes in the North Channel are worth the price of admission.
